MONROE - The Monroe Chamber of Commerce will host a local political candidate forum on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 7 p.m. The forum will be held at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center located at 1600 26th Street, Monroe.
The public is encouraged to attend so that they can be educated on the candidates views and know how the candidates stand on issues facing our community.
The candidate forum will be held for the following positions: Four City Alderman positions that are running contested; and three school board seats for which four are running and the top three vote getters will hold those positions.
We do not have any contested races at the county level.
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce is asking citizens to submit questions for consideration to be asked of the candidates.
There will be a review committee to select the questions they feel are more applicable and fit in the timeframe allotted for the event. Questions can be submitted for consideration by mailing them to the following address: Monroe Chamber of Commerce, 1505 9th Street, Monroe, WI 53566, by e-mailing your questions to: thechamber@tds.net - or submit questions in person.
All questions will be asked by the moderator to the candidates the submitter will remain anonymous. All questions must be submitted to the Monroe Chamber of Commerce office no later than Friday, March 18.
