MONROE - The Green County Welcome Center and National Historic Cheesemakers Center host a Business After Hours Social from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the center, 2108 7th Ave., Monroe.

J.D. Milburn, small business specialist with Wisconsin Department of Commerce Main Street Program, will discuss the possibilities for the future home of the National Historic Cheesemakers Center.

Milburn has met with the Cheesemakers steering committee several times to explore the options available to them for creating the national center, according to Donna Bahler, vice president of the Historic Cheesemakers Center Executive Board.

"The steering committee is looking for ways to move forward and to handle all parts of the center now and in the future," Bahler said.

The committee has explored their facility, mission and goals for the project with Milburn, and have an artistic rendering of a concept of the new building, which can be seen at the Welcome Center during the event.

"We want to build on what we have already and look ahead to how it can fit with Main Street," Bahler said.

Business After Five is a Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) social event geared toward business networking. The public is invited. For more information call the Welcome Center at 325-4636, or MCCI at 325-7648.
