Celebrating Our Past: Monticello Historical Society

Thomas Brusveen, Monticellos late barber, and his friend Fred Meier dressed for the 1972 traditional Norwegian Christmas Julebukk, or Yule goat. People would dress in old clothes and masks and go door-to-door where those receiving them attempted to identify who was under the disguise. The Julebukkers usually were rewarded with some sweet treats or drinks. (Photo supplied by the Monticello Historical Society)
