37307a.jpg
This photo is one of two photos found in the historical society collection that have an address label on the back from Henry J. Gempeler, who lived on Lake Mendota Drive in Madison when the photo was donated to the society. Written on the back, Dad in part of store 1910 and Luans grandfather. The other photo is of the outside of Hoesly & Grinnell, a grocery store on the north side of the square, also taken in 1910. If anyone can give more information on Henry Gempeler and Luan, or can verify the identity of this store, please contact Matt at mfigi48@tds.net or 325-6503.
