Gempeler, who lived on Lake Mendota Drive in Madison when the photo was donated to the society. Written on the back, Dad in part of store 1910 and Luans grandfather. The other photo is of the outside of Hoesly & Grinnell, a grocery store on the north side of the square, also taken in 1910.
