Cast vote to help Monroe post prom

MONROE - The Monroe High School junior class has entered into a prom contest on the Stumps Prom decoration Web site. If Monroe receives the most votes for Wisconsin, the class will receive a $1,000 gift certificate to use for its decoration expense for post prom in May.

The junior class parents host the post-prom event, which is a safe, fun-filled evening open to all students, including those who choose not to attend prom. Because it is not a school-sponsored activity, post-prom funds come from parents, area businesses, community members, service groups and others. The Stumps Prom decoration contest is an opportunity to help Monroe acquire additional funds for decorations just by voting.

For the past two weeks, Monroe led Wisconsin in votes, but a Kenosha high school recently passed it and now has a nearly 300-vote lead.

Only one vote can be cast per IP address through March 13. The 2009 Post Prom Sponsor-Prize Committee is encouraging everyone to vote daily from home, and at work (if allowed) and to pass the Web site information on to grandparents, relatives and friends.
