What are the top issues facing this district/board and how would you work to resolve them?

While every issue is important to our great State. The most pressing issues would be sustaining while improving our growing economy, encouraging mining in our State and rebuilding a dependable infrastructure.

The highest priority is to continue growing our State's economy. This can be accomplished different ways. Either through tax incentives for businesses or more funding for job training. I would support legislation that would promote growth through these initiatives. As the next Representative for the 51st Assembly District I will personally work with area Chambers of Commerce and local businesses to assist communication in the hiring process.

Mining is a cornerstone in our State's heritage. We need not let it stay in the history books. I support responsible mining as it provides thousands of jobs while investing in the future.

With a Strong economy evolves a dependable infrastructure. We need to be a good steward of the taxpayers money and prioritize what and where we appropriate their money. We can address this by implementing a different policy towards State grants. I believe the State could begin to award matching grants and get away from wasteful grants that communities don't necessarily need. This would require communities to provide some funding and be accountable for such projects. I believe we can invest in a more reliable infrastructure while still being responsible with taxpayers money.

What are other key issues facing the district/board, and how would you work to resolve them?

Some key issues that face not only the 51st Assembly District but the State of Wisconsin are: new generation farming assistance, education, government assistance and re-establish trust in government on all levels.

While being involved in the Monroe FFA during my four years of high school, I noticed that future farmers don't necessarily come from a farming family. With expensive prices for land rent or purchase as well as commodities, it's difficult for a new generation farmer to get started. While agriculture continues to be a irreplaceable asset to our State's economy. I would support stronger legislation to ensure undeniable opportunity for young future farmers.

Education will always be a key issue for the whole State. It is my hope that the school vouchers will make schools more competitive and increase test scores. I also believe that we should wait to see the results of the voucher plan before we make it any broader. It is the responsibility of the State of Wisconsin, local school boards and parents alike to ensure a quality education. This is why I do not support common core standards that the federal government wants us to implement.

Government assistance is an issue that must be improved. This sort of assistance should be temporary and not a way of life. I would like to see the State implement more oversight and accountability. We need to make sure taxpayers money is actually being provided to fellow citizens in need. The State should also put equal effort into finding these recipients of assistance a place to work. Every Wisconsinite should have a chance at the American dream.

Lastly, but equally as important, we need to re-establish trust in government on all levels. Wisconsin is improving and ahead of the federal government. We can continue to improve by being more transparent in our legislature. We must never dishonor the trust our constituents bestow unto us on election day. My honorable service to the people of Monroe was the highlight of my life and I will always be thankful for their support. That is what I intend to take to Madison while helping shape a safer, more prosperous and responsible State.

Why are you the best candidate for this office?

I believe that I am the best candidate for the district because of my experience. My experience on City Council is essential to be the next Representative for the State Assembly. While serving on council the commitment of teamwork instantly became apparent. Through the committees I was appointed to, I began working with my fellow elected officials and department heads. This constructive collaboration was necessary for securing a brighter future for Monroe and it's citizens.
