What are the top issues facing this district/board and how would you work to resolve them?
Many of the issues that see that face the village board are those that concern issues of safety throughout the village. Some of these safety issues that I see are the lack of sidewalks in areas where there should be sidewalks such as the area of Park Avenue by the school amongst other areas in the village that sidewalks are in need of repair to prevent against accidents to the people in the village. Some other issues that I see is the need for more business to be drawn to the Village of Monticello that will bring more business, people and a stronger community of which will continue to draw people to come to Monticello as a community that has the top businesses in which to work.
Another issue that faces the village of Monticello is the continuous problem of algae growing in Lake Montesian that makes fishing often difficult if not impossible because of so much algae growth.
In looking at these issues that I have discussed and any other issues I would work to resolve them by working closely with the Planning Commission outlined in the 2005 Comprehensive Plan to make the village of Monticello the community of choice not only for community members and to prospective people coming into the village of Monticello. With the issue of continuous algae growth in Lake Montesian I would explore other options that available to help clean up the lake, to continue to make the algae growth to a minimum, and to draw more people in the village of Monticello and the surrounding areas as the best place to fish.
What are other key issues facing the district/board, and how would you work to resolve them?
Some of the other issues that face the village of Monticello I believe would come from community members as they may see issues that may be overlooked by some that could be seen as issues by them or anyone else that see it as an issue. As village board trustee in the village of Monticello, I would encourage community members in the village to a voice their opinions, bring up their issues no matter how small and to work with them in resolving their issues in the best possible way that helps all members in the community.
Other issues that I see with village is many of the buildings on Main Street are in need of repair or restoration to make it appealing to not only members of the community but to those that visit the village of Monticello.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
I believe that I am the best candidate for the position of village of Monticello trustee because I am willing to listen to the concerns and issues that people in the village have and will continue to work the best that I can to resolve these issues. Also I believe that I am best candidate for the position of village of Monticello trustee because I believe that I can bring some new ideas into the village of Monticello that not will only help the village now but going forward in the future.
