What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve it?

I believe that we need to keep property taxes in check without sacrificing much needed services and amenities for our county. Many of our citizens are living on fixed incomes and it is important to keep tax levies as low as possible. As elected officials we need to keep a balance between taxes and services. It is our responsibility to see that we represent our constituents.

What are other key issues facing the district/municipality, and how would you work to resolve them?

We need to make sure that tax revenues are used to serve the county and that waste is eliminated. We also need to ensure that local control of the county is not taken from us and placed at the state or federal levels. There needs to be dialogue with our state and federal representatives to ensure that we keep control at the local levels and that we aren't given unfunded mandates to fulfill. I believe it is also our responsibility to educate and make our constituents aware of the issues facing us.
