What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve it?
School Funding from the State.
I will continue to support, with the other Board Members, our Staff in their efforts to provide a quality education on limited funds. Our community has been very supportive in passing referendums to assist us in accomplishing our goals as a District. This is truly a team effort which includes the community, the School Board and most of all our Staff. Being a team player is a necessity in a School Board member.
What are other key issues facing the district/municipality, and how would you work to resolve them?
Mental Health services and all that encompasses.
We are seeing an increase in the need for more services aimed at supporting our students with Special needs. I think Brodhead does a fabulous job at meeting these needs, but it is an ever growing issue and it takes added staff and resources to accomplish this. It's just not about giving students every opportunity to flourish in their lives, but sadly it is becoming a matter of public safety. Making sure we are doing everything we can to acquire these resources is my responsibility to the District as a Board Member.
Why are you the best candidate for this office?
Being a School Board Member is a team effort. I have been on this team for 8 years and look forward to working WITH the Board and Staff, while also representing the Community, for a long time.
