FITCHBURG - Ryan Caputo, Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden, was recently assigned to Green County.

Following a competitive selection process, Caputo recently completed a year of specialized warden training during which he worked at several locations around Wisconsin. Green County is his first permanent duty station.

"In addition to getting familiar with DNR properties and other DNR staff working in or having responsibilities in Green County, Ryan will be busy getting to know the conservation, environmental and outdoor recreation community," said Joe Frost, warden supervisor for the Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland and Grant counties warden team.

In addition to temporary duty stations in Wood, Brown, Milwaukee and Price counties during training, Caputo has worked as a park ranger at Peninsula State Park, as a deputy sheriff for Winnebago County and as a deputy warden in Poynette. While in college, he majored in forest management with an environmental law enforcement minor.

Caputo's off duty time is spent with his family, as well as hunting, fishing and trapping whenever they can. He resides in northern Green County.
