FENNIMORE - Southwest Tech announced the recent hire of Dr. Richard Ammon as the new Dean of Business, Manage-ment and General Studies.
As the Dean of Business, Manage-ment, and General Studies, Ammon's duties will include leadership of the Business and General Education academic areas. Ammon, a native of Monroe, has 19 years' experience in university and two-year college leadership.
Ammon served as the Associate Dean for the School of Health Sciences and Associate Dean for the School of Business at Milwaukee Area Technical College. He was the Chair of Adult and Continuing Education, Director of Professional Licensure and Certification, and Coordinator of Conference and Business Programs at Frederick Community College. In addition, Ammon served as an Associate Professor in the Business Division specializing in supervisory management and customer service. He also held a position as the coordinator of manufacturing programs at Hagerstown Community College and has experience as a small business owner.
Ammon's most recent educational accomplishment was receiving his Doctorate in Educational Leadership Studies with an emphasis in educational technology. He also obtained a Master of Science degree in education with an emphasis in business management from Frostburg State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture with an emphasis in business and industry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
