Monroe - It is never too early to start planning your career, which is why high school students and non-traditional students are invited to attend the Agricultural College Preview Day at the Blackhawk Technical College Monroe Campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2 .

Agricultural College Preview Day is an opportunity to explore Ag programs from seven colleges: Blackhawk Technical College, Eastern Iowa Community College, Highland Community College, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Platteville and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

In addition to learning about the wide range of programs in agriculture, attendees also will have the chance to meet and talk with area agricultural business leaders about the career options and opportunities within one of Wisconsin's largest industries. Prospective students also will participate in a variety of workshops focused on careers, industry expectations and college entrance information.

According to a recent study by the University of Wisconsin-Extension, Wisconsin farms and agricultural businesses generate $88.3 billion in economic activity and produce 413,500 jobs.

The event will conclude with tours of local agribusinesses.

Students interested in attending need to return a registration form by Friday. Sign-up forms are available on blackhawk.edu/locations/MonroeCampus. Send completed forms to Dustin Williams at dwilliams61@blackhawk.edu.
