BRODHEAD - Six people were evacuated from the Brodhead Senior Center after two people complained of dizziness around 9:15 Monday morning.
Brodhead Police Chief Thomas Moczynski said officers smelled fumes when they arrived at the center, located at 1103 W. Second Ave.
The Brodhead Fire Department detected high levels of carbon monoxide in the building's basement near the furnace room. A further inspection of the building by Wisconsin Energy revealed no natural gas leaks.
Carbon monoxide is a gas given off by any type of fuel that is burned, Moczynski said.
Two people were treated for dizziness by Brodhead Emergency Medical Services.
The center was reopened by lunch time, Moczynski said.
