Brodhead police seek info on bike accident

BRODHEAD - The Brodhead Police Department is seeking information about a hit-and-run accident that sent a 72-year-old Brodhead bicyclist to the hospital Sunday.

The man was bicycling east on 17th Street when he was struck by a truck traveling in the same direction, according to a news release from Chief Chris Hughes. The accident occurred just after noon.

The bicyclist was taken to a Janesville hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses and vehicle parts left at the scene identify the truck as a 1990s single-cab Chevrolet 1500 with Wisconsin plates. The truck has black rims, silver wheel wells and damage to the passenger side of the truck.

The driver is believed to be white, about 20 years of age, with facial age. He was reportedly wearing a dark T-shirt.
