BRODHEAD — Police are asking for the public’s help to solve a burglary to a local business before Christmas.

According to police, a popular chain sandwich restaurant in the 2400 block of 1st Center Ave was burglarized some time on Dec. 18. Once the suspect gained entry — police did not indicate how he broke in — the man tried unsuccessfully to remove a safe. 

Police have video and the suspect was only in the restaurant for less than a minute before fleeing.  The images show a hooded figure in sweatpants attempting to access the safe.
