Brodhead police field 18 complaints, warn fireworks violators

BRODHEAD — Brodhead police responded to 18 fireworks complaints during the week of July 4.

Officers were able to locate 10 of the violations and issue warnings, according to the Brodhead Police Department.

For the rest of the reported fireworks violations, police checked the area but did not locate the source.

On July 3, police issued warnings for fireworks violations reported at 3:23 p.m. in the 400 block of 8th Street, at 5:06 p.m. in the 700 block of West 2nd Avenue and at 9:43 p.m. in the 200 block of 8th Street.

On July 4, warnings were issued for violations reported at 8:51 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street, at 8:57 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 3rd Avenue, at 9:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 6th Avenue, at 9:29 p.m. in the 1300 block of West 5th Avenue, at 9:33 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 2nd Avenue, at 10:16 p.m. and again at 10:23 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 3rd Avenue and at 11:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

No fireworks-related ambulance calls were reported.
