Rock County Sheriff deputies, along with Orfordville Fire and EMS personnel, responded to the accident on Wisconsin 11, west of Potter Road in Spring Valley Township, after being a report of a heavily damaged car on a steep embankment came in at 6:55 a.m. Sunday.
The first responding deputy discovered the driver of the vehicle had been ejected. There were no passengers in the vehicle, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Dept.
The investigation determined the vehicle was westbound on Wis. 11 when it veered off the north side of the road and traveled on to an elevated driveway, causing the car to become airborne. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Rhea Ellestad from the Rock County Medical Examiner's Office.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is completing a detailed crash reconstruction.
