MONROE - Traffic patterns will be changing on the Wisconsin 11 bridge today.

Construction crews from Zenith Tech, based in Waukesha, have completed resurfacing one lane in each direction, said Carrie Johnson, engineer with Fehr-Graham & Associates.

Fehr-Graham, with offices in Monroe and several Illinois communities, was hired by the state of Wisconsin to oversee the resurfacing work of the span of road between Wisconsin 81 and Wisconsin 69 on Monroe's north side.

On the two completed lanes, Zenith Tech removed two inches of road surface and replaced it with new concrete, Johnson said. Construction workers also installed new asphalt approaches, she said.

The bridge work, which began Sept. 14, should be completed by Oct. 31, according to the state Department of Transportati-on's Web site.

Drivers should pay close attention to the change in traffic patterns, Johnson said.

"Now that the traffic has switched, the ramps are still open, and you can use the ramps, but there are more drums and traffic controls," she said.
