JUDA - A spill of liquid protient has shut down one lane of traffic on Wisconsin Highway 11 west of County S this morning.

The Green County Sheriff's Department was notified at about 8:51 a.m. Friday of a materials leak in the vicinity of the Protient plant and Grande Cheese, located at N2689 County S just north of Juda. Apparently, liquid waste products were spilling from a ruptured pipe at the location.

The Sheriff's Department was assured the material is a nontoxic liquid waste product that is not a hazardous material.

The Juda Fire Department and the Green County Highway Department were dispatched to the scene to prevent the waste from running into a nearby creek. Green County Emergency Management has been dispatched to the scene, and representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources have been sent from Madison.

The westbound lane of Wisconsin 11 was shut down at about 9:35 a.m.
