MONROE - Longtime Green County Board of Supervisors member Robert Hoesly died Tuesday, according to the Green County Clerk's office.
Hoesly represented District 27 on the board. The district included rural New Glarus.
Hoesly first was elected to the county board in April 1970. He was elected board chairman in April 1974 and held the position until April 2002. He was succeeded as chairman by Tom Daly.
Hoesly currently served as a member of Green County Agriculture and Extension Committee, the Railroad Transit Committee and the Land Conservation Committee.
