DARLINGTON - The name of an 8-year-old boy killed Friday, May 17, in a skid-steer loader accident has been identified by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.
Melvin A. Jerrett, Jr., Blanchardville, was accidentally run over at about 4:40 p.m. in the 19000 block of Yellowstone Church Road in Blanchard Township, in an area where a small campground is being developed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The skid-steer operator was Melvin Jerrett, Sr., 31, Mineral Point.
