JUDA - The Juda Booster Club will be hosting a 'Strike Out Cancer' event Monday, May 16, with fundraising efforts being held throughout the day.

A "Brat Fest" will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Juda softball field. Attendees will receive a brat or hot dog, beans, chips and a drink for the price of $6 for adults and $4 for kids (10 and under).

There will also be an ice cream sale during the lunch periods for middle school students and high school students, as well as in the afternoon for elementary school students. Ice cream cones, sundaes and root beer floats will be sold for 75 cents, $1 and $1.50, respectively.

Also included in the event is a Pitch Burst, in lieu of a dunk tank, starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Juda park. For $1, participants will get three throws to soak one of two recipients.

Those wishing to participate may also purchase cancer ribbons that can be written on and put on a poster to be displayed at the Juda park during the Strike Out Cancer Juda girls softball game against Argyle.

The ribbons cost $1 each and can be purchased from Pam Green on May 12, 13 and 16. All proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society.
