MONROE - Green County Board Supervisor Sue Disch of District 8 died Wednesday from cancer.
Disch was a supervisor for the City of Monroe and had been a member of the Green County Board for 16 years. She was an active member of the board and a strong proponent for the Pleasant View Nursing Home referendum. She was on the Pleasant View Committee as well as the Finance Committee and the Auditing Committee.
Disch, 64, fought breast cancer for several years before her death.
Board Chairman Art Carter said Disch was always extremely knowledgeable. "She always did her homework, and she really knew what was going on. We'll really miss her input," Carter said.
Carter said with her knowledge of the issues, it will be difficult to replace Disch on the board.
"She was really good as a friend as well. We'll miss her," Carter said.
An obituary for Disch appears on Page A2 of today's edition.
