MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works:

• Approved payment of bills in the amounts of $1,316.25 for TID No. 4 and TID No. 6 amendments and $1,005 for 9th Street and 16th Avenue water and sewer grant application from Fehr-Graham & Associates.

• Recommended council approve change orders for west-side fire station contract with Midwest Builders, Inc. The city purchased Varco-Pruden building materials (for pre-fabricated building) directly to save $5,254 on sales tax. The city also purchased additional water pipe, sanitary sewer pipe, and concrete for footings and walls, as well as transportation of extra structural fill for $21,232. Fire Chief Daryl Rausch said the project is still under budget.
