BLANCHARDVILLE - The Village of Blanchardville has received a grant from the Blanchardville/Hollandale Area Special Projects Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin Inc., to support the joint downtown improvement project of "Holiday Street Poles" between the Village of Blanchardville and Blanchardville Community Pride Inc.
The Village of Blanchardville and BCPI recognized the importance of a festive appearance in the community's downtown district to attract visitors and residents, according to a news release. The village purchased the street pole decorations on a rotating cycle, usually resulting in different designs on alternating street poles. When the Streets Department told village officials the snowflakes needed to be replaced, they recommended wreaths. When members of BCPI heard that the village would be replacing the snowflake decorations with wreaths, they offered to help with the remaining wreaths so all of the wreaths will look the same. For more information, contact Village Clerk Amy Barnes.
