JANESVILLE - Scott Thompson, owner of Big Radio in Monroe, announced the purchase of two Janesville radio stations, 105.9 The Hog (WWHG-FM) and ESPN Radio 1380 (WTJK-AM), from Good Karma Broadcasting, LLC.
Thompson said he plans to keep all the employees at the stations.
He owns five radio stations in the Monroe and Freeport markets; his largest, "The Big FM," is a 36,000-watt FM station at 93.7 FM.
Thompson will take over the limited management authority, effective Saturday, Feb. 1. The transaction is subject to FCC approval, which is expected to occur within 60 days.
