Tana Klopfenstein of Monroe, an account representative at Monroe Clinic, talks about her best friend Alli Jo, a 9-year-old black Lab.

Klopfenstein said she and her family have always had black Labs. They decided to get another dog after losing the one they had previously and went to a private breeder in Westfield.
Describe Alli's personality.

She's friendly. She welcomes everybody. She'll wait until she hears the mail truck two blocks away and she'll go sit right by the mailbox, and the mail woman will give her a treat. She's spoiled. I've never had a dog in the house, but she comes in every night and has her own pillow.

What do you like to do together?

She likes going pheasant hunting with my husband, Jeff, and sons, Kyle and Kevin. Nothing beats seeing her work the birds. We'll take her to Cadiz where she loves to swim, although she doesn't like baths. She likes to go on walks. Mostly, she's a big duck hunter and likes going hunting.

What has it been like having Alli in your life?

Oh boy, it's been a pleasure. She'll be sitting out back and she'll come welcome you when you get home. She'll follow you around like a kid from the back to the front of the yard. Unfortunately, she'll be 9, but she's still got spunk to her. She's just a pleasure to have around.
