Erich Krahenbuhl, a chiropractor at Anatomy in Motion Chiropractic, made an immediate connection with his best friend, Ricochet, a 7-month-old beagle lab mix.

Krahenbuhl brought Ricochet home Dec. 6 after getting him from Fetch Wisconsin Rescue, a dog rescue organization out of Madison. When Krahenbuhl's application was approved and he got to pick from a litter, Ricochet was the only pup who ran out and jumped on his lap. He hasn't left Krahenbuhl's side since.

The name Ricochet came from Krahenbuhl's love for hunting and fits perfectly since Krahenbuhl said Ricochet is already a natural at finding antlers that deer have shed.

Describe Ricochet's personality.

He's pretty easy-going. When he's here (at Krahenbuhl's office) he'll lay on his pillow and every time the bell jingles on the door when a client comes in, he goes to say hi. He's definitely the most easy-going dog you meet. He's super friendly, and he's super smart. He's my shadow. He goes everywhere with me. We are always together with the only exception being about an hour while I'm at the gym.

He's super genius. He knows all his toys by name. He's got Fox, Squirrel, Raccoon, Moose. He's never destroyed a thing that isn't his yet. He has been absolutely too perfect. I take him with me when I run errands and grocery shopping. He's the easiest dog ever.

What do you like to do together?

Everything. We definitely like fly fishing and hiking. He likes going to the store with me. Absolutely everything. I was working on my truck the other day and he sat by my feet the whole time. Eventually I want to bring him hunting with me.

What has it been like having Ricochet in your life?

Perfect. He's just been too easy. It's great to have someone with me all the time. He's always laying on the couch next to me or right by my feet. It's pretty perfect to have him always right there.
