MONROE -- A 41-year-old Belleville woman was killed Sunday when she lost control of her motorcycle, according to Green County Chief Deputy Jeff Skatrud.
Elaine M. Graber, 41, was pronounced dead at Monroe Clinic Hospital by Green County Coroner Janet Perry, Skatrud said. The accident took place on County C, a short distance south of Puddledock Road in Adams township.
Deputies, along with the Argyle Emergency Medical Services and Argyle Fire Department, responded to the scene at about 7:45 p.m.
An investigation showed Graber's 2004 Harley Davidson was traveling east on County C when it failed to negotiate a curve, left the road and hit an embankment. Graber, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle.
Skatrud said speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
The crash is Green County's first fatality in 2009, Skatrud said.
