TOWN OF PORTER - Autopsy results will not be conclusive into the manner of death of Allen Brown, who was found deceased on a creek bank on Jan. 16, for another 60 to 90 days, according to the Rock County Medical Examiner.

Brown, 80, Milton, was reported missing by his family on Jan. 7 after he never returned home from a luncheon with a friend in Monticello. Brown's 2013 Ford Explorer was found partially submerged in Badfish Creek on the north side of Wisconsin 59 near Riley Road on Jan. 16.

Barry Irmen, director of operations at the Rock County Medical Examiner Department, said he expects autopsy results to be ready in April or May.

Milton Police Chief Daniel Layber, whose department was the first notified of Brown's disappearance, said there is no conclusive evidence into how Brown died, though preliminary investigation suggests exposure or hypothermia as the cause of death.

Brown was last seen leaving Monticello about 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 and was possibly eastbound on Wis. 59 towards Milton before the crash. Preliminary investigation by Rock County detectives and an accident reconstruction team determined Brown's vehicle could have crossed the centerline, entered the ditch and gone into the creek. Brown appears to have exited the vehicle and attempted to crawl his way to the bank, where his body was found.

The vehicle was discovered by a person checking hunting traps in the area, as the vehicle could not be seen from the roadway due to the steep embankment.
