BROWNTOWN - The Green Rock Audubon Society will host a Spring Bird Walk on Saturday, May 18 at the Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area.

The Bird Walk is free, however, the purchase of a daily or annual admission sticker for each vehicle is required to enter the park.

Participants who wish to carpool to the park can meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave.

John Patterson, a local bird enthusiast, will lead the walk. Patterson hopes that participants will be able to see some of the waterfowl, warblers and finchs that migrate through the area. Local residents of the park include pileated woodpeckers, orioles, bluebirds, turkey vultures, sandhill cranes and bald eagles.

The trails around the two lakes at Cadiz Springs will also be open.
