MONROE - Main Street Monroe is looking for local artists to help decorate pieces for the upcoming, two-year celebration of "Farmin' on the Square."
This year's theme is designed to educate and entertain the downtown with various items including a large garden, pumpkin patch, carvings, and fiberglass animals by local artists.
Main Street Monroe needs artists to decorate more than 15 figures including chickens, pigs, horses, goats, sheep and cows. The group is raising money to purchase the animals and provide all the paint supplies needed. Animals arrive early April and need to be finished by May 1.
To help decorate or for more information, contact Amy Brandt, Main Street Monroe executive director, at 608-328-4023 or amybrandtmainstreetmonroe@tds.net by Sunday, March 3.
"Farmin' on the Square" will lead into the 2014 100th anniversary of Green County Cheese Days.
