The Green County Historical Museum has in its permanent collection an antique buggy jack.
The wooden buggy jack shown here is about 27 inches long and 7 inches wide, with a base that is 1 foot wide.
One would lift up on the handle and slide the jack under the buggy or wagon and push the handle back down. This would raise the buggy enough to change or grease the wheels.
This particular jack is small enough to have been carried in the buggy or wagon on long trips.
