Pre-registration for summer library programs due Friday

ALBANY - Summer library programs are starting at the Albertson Memorial Library, 200 N. Water St.

Programs are every Thursday. Preschool programs are at 10 a.m., kindergarten through third-grade programs are at 1 p.m. and fourth- through eighth-grade programs are at 2:30 p.m.

Pre-registration is required by Friday, June 8.

Diabetes support group to meet on Tuesday

MONROE - The Monroe Clinic Diabetes Support Group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 at the St. Clare Center, New Glarus room.

Loretha Huff, member of the A1C Champions Program, will give a presentation.

Huff will share how she handles the challenges and obstacles to maintaining control over her diabetes. Other topics include achieving good glucose control, developing a balanced and healthy lifestyle and overcoming fears surrounding diabetes.

Vietnam veteran to speak at Wednesday luncheon

MONROE - The "Life's Ups and Downs" luncheon, sponsored by Stateline Women's Connection and Stonecroft Ministries, will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 at Peppercorn Banquets at Ludlow Mansion, 1417 Mansion Drive.

The price is $9 and includes lunch, tax, tip and program.

The program features "Marching Onward" by Staff Sgt. Orson Robertson, a three-time injured Vietnam Veteran, who will talk about his service in Vietnam. He will also display some of his field equipment and his uniform.

The speaker is Kay Brow, Winneconne, who will speak on "From Castles to Mansions with all the Hills and Valleys in Between." She will share about her childhood, alcohol issues in her marriage, the death of her daughter and how she found strength and hope.
