TOWN OF GRATIOT - A suspected arson was reported Saturday, Sept. 19, in rural Gratiot near the location of another fire under investigation since July.
A fire that occurred sometime since July in an old mobile home on Dunbarton Road was reported to deputies Saturday at 12:03 p.m., according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.
The mobile home is on a neighboring property and owned by relatives to the owners of an unoccupied house that was "fully engulfed" by flames in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 11, at 13177 Dunbarton Rd.
Fire departments from Gratiot, Warren, Apple River and Darlington responded to that fire.
Both fires are being investigated as arson, said Sheriff Reg Gill.
