NEW GLARUS - The annual Wilhelm Tell picnic is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Tell Grounds on County W in New Glarus.
Cast, crew, friends, family and past participants are invited. Food will be served at 12:30 p.m. The Wilhelm Tell Guild provides bratwurst, hotdogs and soft drinks and the New Glarus Hotel provides beer. Those who attend are asked to bring a dish to pass and a blanket or lawn chairs. Table service will be provided.
The German cast will have a full rehearsal following the picnic. Many of the other groups practice before or after the picnic as well. The English play is directed by Petra Streiff and Julie Johnson. German directors are Dan Gartzke and Pete Etter.
Volunteers are encouraged. Food stand volunteers are also needed. To become a food stand volunteer, contact Kaye Gmur at (608) 287-4700.
