The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Walk is not just a fundraiser, but a celebration. While remembering those that have been have lost, ADAW takes action and provides hope to those living with dementia and their care partners in Wisconsin. The events are family-friendly and powered by volunteers, donors, and friends. Participating in the walk can help bring the life-changing impact of free education, support, and a listening ear to those who need it most in our community. Register a team and fundraise to provide comfort, assistance, resources, and education, ensuring families don’t walk through this journey alone.
The burden of dementia and Alzheimer’s is large and growing. It’s estimated that more than 120,000 Wisconsin residents have some form of dementia. By the year 2040, that number may be closer to 240,000. ADAW’s role is to provide information, emotional support, and a trusted guide. Because of the walk, ADAW is able to do this at no charge.
For 35 years the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin (ADAW) has been “your partner along the journey.” The alliance helps individuals, their care partners, and families navigate the maze of issues brought on by memory loss and dementia.
ADAW staff guide, educate, support, and advocate for people living with dementia and for those supporting them free of charge. Its reach includes counties in south-central and southwestern Wisconsin. All donations stay in state, helping those who need it most in local Wisconsin communities.
