That means the owner of a $100,000 home in Monroe will pay about $2,748 in taxes next year, while the owner of a $100,000 home in Sylvester Township and Brodhead School District will pay $1,630.
The average tax rate among the 56 tax districts (municipal-school) in the county comes to about 2.101 percent, with 2.064 percent as the median rate.
Tax bills for the City of Monroe and many other municipalities were put in the mail last week.
The first installment payment is due by Jan. 31, 2013. People can make those payments at their local treasurer's office.
City of Monroe property owners can pay their taxes at city hall from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
