ALBANY — Albany music students participated in the Wisconsin School Music Association District Solo & Ensemble Festival Saturday, Feb. 23. Solo & Ensemble is a great learning opportunity for music students to prepare a solo, duet, trio, quartet or other ensemble and perform it for a WSMA certified adjudicator. 

The students then receive feedback and a numerical score from the adjudicators, 1 being the highest score. If the students prepare a Class A piece (the most challenging class), they have the opportunity to go to the State Festival in April. This year, Albany’s, Haley Mueller, earned a 1 score, which means she will perform at UW-Platteville’s State Festival on April 27.  Other performers include: Brittney Vine, Rylee McKittrick, Peyton Firth, Lily Larson, Shai Parker, Ashley Letcher, Ivy Horn. Averey Marean, Cecilia Larson, Rhylie Gough, Kaleigh Dallman, Caden Maire, Drew Sertle, Ava Ahnen, Peyton Pendergrass, Linsey Mueller, Rachel Wildt, Cody Pryce, Omega Wildt, Avary Briggs and Alana Durtschi.
