Afternoon Club starts June 19

MONROE - Summer School Afternoon Club is offered at the Monroe Middle School after both summer school sessions from noon to 5 p.m. The first session will be June 19 through July 7 and the second session will be July 10 through 28. Each day, children will eat lunch and check in with their Afternoon Club instructor.

On Mondays and Fridays, kids will stay at the middle school for arts and crafts, games, speakers, special entertainment or go to the library or play outside. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they will walk to the pool after lunch and play at Swiss Alps Playground. On Wednesdays, they will take a separate bus to one of the city parks.

This program is for children entering 5K through sixth grade in the fall and the cost is $200 for one session and $400 for both sessions. The price includes a snack provided by the Park and Rec Department. Instructors will be Monica Crook, Jolene DeNure, Anna Latimer, Emily Benzschawel, Isaac Allen, Gabe Witt and Cole Murray.
