A fire on Oct. 9 damaged about 25 percent of the roof and a wall of the building. Because of fire and smoke damage, the store had to be gutted and completely remodeled. Inside, steel beams already have been cleaned and, along with ceiling insulation, painted white to cover any traces of soot.
