MONROE - Philip Rath, administrator and clerk of the Village of Clinton, has been selected by the Monroe Salary and Personnel Committee to be the next city administrator.
The committee is expected to recommend Rath's appointment to the city council for a vote at tonight's meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Rath was the administrator and clerk of the Village of Necedah, population 2,300, from May to December 2004; and the City of Princeton, population 1,600, from December 2004 to August 2007. Clinton has a population of about 2,000.
Rath holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Ripon College.
He was one of four finalists interviewed by the salary and personnel committee.
