The First Cheese Hauling Truck which appeared in the late 1920s and early 1930s, hauled cheese from the factory to the buyer and replaced the railroad for further distances. The trucking firm was known as Kuebli Transfer, owned and operated by Fred Kuebli. They advertised, "We Haul Anything Anywhere." An insured carrier, the truck could haul 60 wheels of Swiss cheese. Pictured nearest the cab is Henry A. Kuebli, brother and employee of Fred with an unidentified presumed cheesemaker. This photograph is one of many to be included in the soon to be published "Cheese Country" book available through National Historic Cheesemaking Center.
