MADISON - Wisconsin schools will receive $366 million in federal stimulus money over two years to pay for services directed at students living in poverty and special education services.
Gov. Jim Doyle announced the state's share of the money at a Thursday news conference inside the library of a Madison elementary school. Doyle warned that because the money is expected only to be available once, schools that spend it on new programs will find themselves "in deep trouble."
Here's the amount 10 area school districts will receive as part of the $366 million in federal stimulus money pledged Thursday to Wisconsin:
Albany - $419,536
Argyle - $246,025
Black Hawk - $279,815
Brodhead - $754,211
Darlington - $558,881
Juda - $224,205
