A Place in History: Adam Schmidt home • Monroe
2147a.jpg
E. Townsend Mix, an architect from Milwaukee, designed the specifications for this Victorian home located at 1620 16th Ave. in Monroe. He drew up the plans on June 5, 1883.

Mix also designed the Monroe Arts Center, formerly a Methodist church.

In 1940, the home became Swiss in character as new owners wished to have it resemble their parents' home in Switzerland.
