During the week of March 14, Dane County Contracting installed 300 feet of 8-inch water line along the south side of 8th Street from Wisconsin 69 to 8th Avenue.

Next week, Dane County Contracting will continue with the remaining 300 feet of water main on 8th Street through 8th Avenue to the bridge. Then they will move the water main installatation to 10th Avenue and 8th Street to complete the installation of a new main crossing 8th Street by the Highlander Mall. Once all water main is installed in these areas, the main will be disinfected and tested for clean waer. While waiting for a clean water sample to come back, they will go back down to 8th Avenue and 8th Street to complete some sanitary sewer work for two days. Once the water sample comes back clear, then they will connnect the services to the new main and abaondon the old main.

While driving the detour route, please be watchful at the intersections of the new one-way streets to avoid inadvertently running the wrong direction along the route.
