MONROE - Most fees within the Monroe school district will stay the same next year as they were this year.

Only Monroe Middle School's nonathletic activity fee - for activities such as forensics, musicals and school plays - will rise from $10 to $25 per activity for the 2015-16 school year. With the $15 increase, MMS's nonathletic activity fee will match that of Monroe High School. The district won't charge a student for more than three activities.

The school board approved the 2015-16 fee schedule recently.

Fees for hockey and solo-ensemble entries were added to the schedule. The MHS hockey fee, which can't be waived, is set at $1,000. Solo-ensemble costs $12 per entry.

The rest of the fee schedule remained unchanged.

Book rental, planner and apps cost $30 for a student at the high school and $16 at the middle school and elementary schools.

A carrying case for an electronic device costs $25 at MHS and $9 at MMS, but doesn't need to be purchased every year, unless the student needs a replacement.

Physical education shirts cost $14 for MMS students, but also don't need to be purchased more than one year except for replacements.

In total, MHS student fees are $67 for grades nine to 10 and $65 for grades 11 and 12. MMS student fees total $46, and those for students in kindergarten through fifth grade are $36. Students in 4K have only one fee for classroom materials, costing $20.

A student single admission to a high school athletic event is $4, while a student athletic pass is $50.

Athletic participation costs $60 per sport at the high school and $25 at the middle school.

Student parking at MHS is $25.

Families that qualify for free and reduced lunches can request a reduction or waiver for most school fees.
