ALBANY - The winners of the Albany school board election Tuesday were determined Thursday after nearly 500 write-in votes were cast for two open seats. No candidates were on the ballot for the school board, but voters wrote in four different candidate names. Valerie Johnson, who was co-president of the Albany Parent Teacher Organization in 2015, received 166 votes, while childcare provider Carrie Anderson received 156.
