MONTICELLO — Two people were injured in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car on Wednesday afternoon in Monticello.

The crash happened just after 11:35 a.m. on Adams Road/County F at the intersection with Wisconsin Avenue/County EE, police said. That’s the location of a major curve in the road where a northbound motorcycle driven by Raymond Gaffga reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a southbound Buick Encore, driven by Denise Pinnow.

The hometowns and ages of those involved were not given by police, who provided a redacted accident report.  The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and another motorcycle, driven by William Prentice, struck the first motorcycle, ejecting him from his bike. The posted speed limit at that stretch of road is 40 mph., according to police.

“We had two motorcycle ejections and none were wearing their helmets,” said Monticello Police Chief Szvon Conway.

Green County EMS, and Monticello First Response responded to the scene. The two motorcyclists were injured and transported, although their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, said Conway.

The SUV and motorcycles were towed from the scene and the incident remains under investigation. Police reports did not indicate whether a citation was issued.
