MONROE - Two men arrested for drug possession Friday made their appearances before Judge James Beer in Green County Circuit Court Monday.
Eillis E. Williams, 18, Monroe, was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class I felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than three years in prison and more than $10,000 in fines, if convicted.
Williams remains free on a $3,000 signature bond. His preliminary hearing is Feb. 1.
David A. Burgos, 19, Monroe, was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a class I felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than three years in prison and more than $10,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on a $5,000 signature bond. His preliminary hearing is Feb. 1.
In a separate case, Burgos pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor, July 20, and was fined $375.
The two men were arrested after the Stateline Area Narcotics Team conducted a search at about 7 a.m. Friday at a home at 1511 29th Ave.
According a statement issued by Stateline Area Narcotics Team (SLANT) Friday, marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia, measuring devices and packing materials was seized from the residence.
The residence is located near St. Victor Catholic Church, 1416 20th Ave.
The narcotics team is made up of agents from the Monroe Police Department, Green County Sheriff's Department, Stephenson County, Ill., Sheriff's Department; the Rockford, Ill., Police Department; Freeport, Ill., Police Department; Loves Park, Ill., Police Department and the Illinois State Police.
